A Natural Cure Of Itchy Skin & Eczema.
The skin condition eczema is when the skin becomes itchy, dry, cracked and sore.
Eczema can range from small patches of dry skin to widespread inflamed skin all over the body.
Inflamed skin can become red on lighter skin, and darker brown, purple or grey on darker skin. This can also be more difficult to see on darker skin.
Although eczema can affect any part of the body, it most often affects the hands, insides of the elbows, backs of the knees and the face and scalp in children.
Oatmeal is a great aid in the fight against eczema
Though there are a number of great over the counter products for treating eczema there is one simple and cheap method to get some relief without. Simple oatmeal like porridge oats added into a warm bath can help.
This type of skin care was practised in ancient Rome and the science behind it has been backed up with modern scientific study.
It is the starch in the oatmeal that gives this effect. Indeed some skin cream manufacturers add ‘colloidal oatmeal’ into their products for this effect.
To get this at home without purchasing special creams you can add a half mug of finely ground oatmeal (colloidal oatmeal) to a warm bath. It is important to take extra care getting out of the bath as the oatmeal will make it slippy, then dry and moisturise as usual after.
